"World may not be warming," say scientists

This may be the year that Al Gore, the failed Presidential candidate, may have to add "Failed Global Warming Alarmist" to his resume. The London Times ran this story today, featuring John Christy, a former lead author of the IPCC assessment reports, saying:

“The temperature records cannot be relied on as indicators of global change”

And just why is that? Because, after an evaluation of the weather stations used to collect temperature data around the world, Christy found that:

"The popular data sets show a lot of warming but the apparent temperature rise was actually caused by local factors affecting the weather stations, such as land development.”

  1. Concerned patriots in Hunterdon should forward this material to Rep. Leonard Lance, one of 8 Republican turncoats who voted for the Cap/Tax bill. To this day, Lance is unrepentant. If he doesn't wake up and acknowledge his error before November, we should make his first term into his last at the polls.

  2. Now, perhaps, a true debate can begin. While no one would want to continue down the path to eminent environmental catastrophe, true apolitical, scientific debate regarding AGW has not occurred. Those that have questioned the veracity of AGW have been maligned and ridiculed leaving the statists in control of the message. Perhaps now that will change and we can focus on getting to the truth. Only then can we make the best decision about where to focus our attention. IMO, there are a million other, more impactful, things we can do to raise the global standard of living and quality of life...WITHOUT massive governmental expansion.
